Linde Philippines announced Friday the commissioning of its nitrogen and hydrogen production plants at the manufacturing complex of JG Summit Olefins Corp. in Batangas City.
The plants will supply the industrial gas requirements for JGSOC’s naphtha cracker plant expansion. Linde invested over $10 million in the new facilities.
“The technology and solutions that Linde can offer, our experienced team and local infrastructure enable us to support some of the largest projects in the country,” said Linde Philippines president Raymond Santayana.
The project includes the installation of an Ecogan Nitrogen generator, the latest addition to Linde’s range of compact on-site nitrogen plants, featuring an innovative, energy-efficient design.
Linde also installed a pressure swing adsorption plant recovering and purifying byproduct hydrogen from the naphtha cracker.
Nitrogen will be supplied throughout the naphtha cracker complex, and nitrogen and hydrogen will be provided to JG Summit’s polyethylene and polypropylene plants.
JGSOC is the Philippines’ only integrated polyethylene and polypropylene resin manufacturer. The naphtha cracker, designed to primarily produce polymer-grade ethylene and polymer-grade propylene, provides feedstock for the downstream PE and PP polymerization plants, which in turn provide a stable supply of PE and PP resin for the local plastics industry.

Linde operates an extensive national network of gas production plants, distribution facilities and sales centers, supplying the petrochemical, semiconductor, manufacturing, fabrication, food, and healthcare sectors in the Philippines.
Linde has been supplying industrial gases to the JG Summit petrochemical complex for more than 20 years, and the commissioning of the new facility marks the start of the next phase of the partnership.
JGSOC president and chief executive Patrick Go said they teamed up with Linde for the expansion project because of their innovative process solutions and consistent track record of providing high-quality services that are set to global standards.
